We’re sitting at the kitchen table, both of us armed with a map of the US and a highlighter. (I’m a previous school teacher so any decision comes with an activity.) The rules are laid out and we get to work trying to decide where we want to move next. This task seems incredibly daunting. We aren’t following a job or family member like most might be in this situation. Also, neither of us fare too well when there are too many options to choose from. However, after much deliberation, we narrowed it down to our top five states. Now the tough part, picking the place we’re going to call home for the next few years.
For some reason, none of these feel right. I glance at Chase who seems to be having just as hard of a time. So I sigh and say, “I don’t want to move to a state, I need something on a grander scale.” Luckily, Chase’s heart was telling him the same thing! He instantly googled “cheap tropical beaches” and discovered Central America and Southeast Asia. The first seemed too close to home and not quite adventurous enough so here we are… Southeast Asia bound!
